A graduate of the Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford), Mr. Boykin will present a program of spirituals, art songs, arias, and Musical Theater repertoire accompanied by Dr. Ronald H. High, pianist. A special feature of the recital will be Mr. Boykin’s interpretation of “Ol’ Man River.” He has gained international prominence with his performances of Crown in Porgy and Bess; and Joe in Show Boat. Part two of Mr. Boykin’s appearance will be a lecture for Music Seminar on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 4:00 p. m. in the Little Theatre.
